Top 10 Awesome Boutique Hotel in Hong Kong !

If you are ever going to visit Hong Kong, you certainly do not want to miss out on these top 10 gorgeous boutique Hotel.

1. The Upper House

We decided to treat ourselves to one night at The Upper House last weekend to celebrate a special occasion. Check-in was seamless, Edward and his Guest Experience team was always so helpful throughout our stay, when we asked for a taxi to go to Central we were offered a complimentary drop-off in their eco-friendly electric BMW i3, very cool!

The room was spotless and we were pleasantly surprised by the little gifts left for us including a personalized photo frame with our picture on it, how thoughtful! Our harbour view room had amazing views! The same view can be enjoyed from our huge bathroom, but don't worry as the windows are tinted and no one can see from the outside, well at least not during the day time.

We had a lovely dinner in their restaurant, Cafe Gray Deluxe. Everything was delicious, but we particularly enjoyed their Foie gras torchon and Barley risotto with truffle. The Sommelier recommended some wines off their Coravin wine by the glass list which I am told changes regularly - a Shiraz from Syria is something I never thought I would be able to try and it was yummy, thank you Leon

We returned back to our room decorated with silk rose petals, thank you for helping me score bonus Brownie points with my wife.

Breakfast is served in the restaurant with proper coffee and a varied and well thought out menu but after such a big meal the night before we wanted something simple and asked the waitress for a fruit plate with yogurt which they happily obliged.

We mentioned to one of the managers on duty, Howard, that we had a late flight and he offered us a late checkout so we could really relax and enjoy the day. There was no need to go down to reception as new keys were delivered to us whilst we were still enjoying our breakfast, so smooth.

Hats off to everyone for being able to deliver consistently this exceptional level of service so effortlessly! I would highly recommended this hotel if you are tired of the ordinary and longing for more.

2. The City View

This hotel was great. Larger room than other hotels at the same price. Located in the vibrant part of kowloon in Hong Kong at Yau Ma Tei MTR station on same block, at corner of Nathan Rd. Clean, classy hotel. Would stay here again. Great staff, free bus (Bus K5) service to Kowloon Station to catch express MTR train to airport. Hotel has restaurant and lots of places to eat nearby. Quiet and well appointed room with large bath, armoir, free in room wi-fi, quick elevators to my 10 floor room. Great bed.

The laser light show in the harbour at night is spectacular.

We stayed for 2 nights in this lovely hotel before setting off on a cruise back to Southampton. We were made very welcome. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable and there was free wifi too and tea and coffee making facilities.

Our excellent buffet breakfast was included in the price and there were many hot dishes as well as continental options.

The staff spoke excellent English and we booked a tour of Hong Kong through the hotel and we were picked up and returned there.

3. Mandarin Oriental

Yet another faultless visit - Such a comfortable and welcoming hotel with superb staff, I felt thoroughly pampered and well looked after. Was met by a member of the hotel team at the airport, who took care of my luggage, put me into a waiting car with excellent driver who drove me to the hotel in air conditioned comfort. On arrival I was greeted by smiling, welcoming staff, was whisked to my room for check in.

The staff are so gracious and welcoming, they make you feel like a VIP - thoroughly pampered and spoilt. Nothing is too much trouble and everything done with not just efficiency but with great charm and courtesy. It is a pleasure to stay at this hotel. Rooms are well appointed with great attention to detail from well equipped desk (good reading lamp, even paper clips and yellow stickies and supported by excellent business centre who will photocopy, print out documents for you to the comfortable well appointed rooms - comfortable bed, wide screen tv, roomy tub, great shower, gorgeous bath gel or bath salts, ice bucket, well stocked mini bar and choice of newspapers. Excellent housekeeping and dry cleaning service.

Further lovely touches include a personal welcome from the Manager with welcome drink and thoughtful gifts on your pillow. Excellent restaurants, whether comfort food or gourmet, all tastes catered for and equally delicious with well chosen wine lists. I notice they even have menus for kids. Cocktails at their MO bar is delightful, overlooking HK at night. Also excellent spa and hair dressers.

My stay made me feel energised and revitalised,I was so relaxed, it made work seem a doddle. Hotel is well located for meetings and together with its easy transport links, on the doorstep you will find golf, walks in the beautiful countryside with scenic views, horse back riding, sailing trips around the many islands that surround HK with private coves for swimming, stunning sunsets, gorgeous shopping malls, worth hitting the sales, mouth watering jewellery, gorgeous clothes, good bookshops, antique shops and markets and amazing contemporary art in the many galleries.

There is something for everyone. I even managed a paddle and an ice cream in one of HK's spotlessly clean, sandy beaches, watched the sunset and returned to the hotel for a wonderful dinner, followed by peaceful and tranquil slumber. The only fault, my stay at the hotel was not long enough! I could have done with another week of sheer luxury which this hotel provides in abundance.

4. The Ritz-Carlton

What an amazing experience we had staying at the Ritz-Carlton. You really can't go wrong with it. We've stayed at both the Four Seasons + the Ritz-Carlton in HK, and they are both stellar places. Our family had a debate over which was better, but I guess you can choose for yourself.

The RCHK is the highest hotel in the world in the International Commerce Center (10 tallest building in the world) located on Kowloon. The pros of this location is it gives stunning views of Hong Kong Island, however you are a little farther away from a lot of tourist areas. This was the point on which my parents liked The Four Seasons better. Nevertheless, you have amazing views and cabs are fairly affordable.

Anyway, the hotel arranged a Mercedes S-Class to pick us up from the airport. It was the epitome of luxury. Everything was taken care of. We were greeted at the welcome lobby at the bottom of the building, and whisked off to a 60 second long elevator ride to the 103 floor.

Our room (on floor 117) was magnificent. With obviously amazing views, chocolate strawberries upon entering, and a massive bathroom, there was nothing to complain about.

The staff called us by name, and they were so kind. Everything had a personal touch to it. They knew that we had reservations at their Chinese restaurant and made sure to confirm it. Check-in is done in the room.

The breakfast was amazing. Probably the best I've ever had at any hotel, and that is really saying something.

It was my father's 60th birthday, and the staff brought chocolate cake to the room. While we were out at dinner, they also put "Happy Belated Birthday" on the windows along with balloons. It was so thoughtful.

Their bar, Ozone, is fabulous. Get the Dragon-tini and a lava cake and enjoy the view! It is sublime.

Well I could go on and on about how great this hotel is, but I think you get the point. It won't disappoint.

5. Hotel ICON

Living in Hong Kong and being used to the quality hotels on offer, I have to say that hotel Icon had a lot to live up to. But I am delighted to say that my stay there has topped any at any other hotel - in any country. And that is quite a few hotels...

The hotel itself is designed by some world class designers and the attention to detail is impeccable. Snug carpets, highly polished tiles, smooth elevators. Everything and more.

The bedroom was luxurious and inviting - the bathroom itself is so funky, it is a place you want to lounge in! Lighting, amenities, Nespresso coffee machine, DVD player, iPod dock were all latest models/brands and state of the art. On Club level the minibar is free of charge and there is an extensive pillow menu. View was spectacular.

The service was outstanding. The staff could not have done more to help us and see to our every need. And service with a smile too - nothing too small or too great for them to deal with. Friendly but not saccharine.

The pool has quite an amazing bird's eye view of Victoria harbour, with funky tunes playing in the background. Service at the pool was impeccable. Didn't quite make it into the gym but could see it was a gym bunny's paradise.

Must see / must try features:
  • the vertical wall garden
  • the courtyard area within the Market restaurant
  • the bathrooms at the pool (white leather doors)
  • the artwork hanging around the hotel
  • the sofa lounge for late/early checkout guests
  • the red wine menu
  • the funky, upbeat uniforms for staff
  • the ballroom (if you are lucky enough)
  • the in room utilities box - post its, glue sticks, paperclips, padded envelopes - so much more than a needle and thread!

Staying in a Club room allows you to have afternoon tea, drinks and canapes and a full buffet breakfast as well as the mini-bar inclusive. Definitely well worth the extra few hundred $ compared to a normal room rate. Just gives me something to go back for.Overall it was a most pleasurable experience and one I would recommend to anyone staying in Hong Kong.

6. Four Seasons Hotel

I spent 3 days in Four Seasons Hong kong. As club room visitor, the service quality and the club team was perfect, so kindly and provide us guidance in every point regarding Hong Kong. Totally impressed with them. Thanks to all the team deeply.

We spend one night at the Grd Harbour view suite. A room is big enough and have a luxury comfortable feeling around. The facilities inside the room are provided with easy to use functions. The touching we love is the Play Station.

The hotel provides the access to the club with quality and quantity foods and beverages, and of course their services was excellent. The laundry service was very fast during the stay as I was requesting the service at the last minute of the day. Thus, I was very pleased and appreciated their professional service when they get the urgent request from the hotel guest. Thank you very much for such a great stay memory.

To sum it up:

  • The club's lounge is stylish; with so tasty and fresh international cuisine!
  • The spa and the pool is the best for hong kong, so clean and the staff so kindly.
  • Thanks a lot to the housekeeper, the room was so clean.
  • Many thanks to the hotel management, that made our holiday best!

7. Harbour Grand Kowloon

This Hotel is huge and very busy BUT its well run and we didn't have one problem here the entire 9 day stay.Rooms are huge (deluxe with harbour view) and all other facilities were exactly as we expected (gym, breakfast, pool and shuttle).Didn't eat at any of the restaurants but wish we did as they all looked fabulous.

The shuttle is convenient and if you don't mind sitting on a bus for 10mins to hotel or back to Kowloon than its worth staying at this hotel as its away from the craziness.

To summarize:

Positive -
Hotel: Overall - Well appointed 5 star hotel in a good location. Staff were nice, friendly and genuinely attentive. The 41th floor club is fantastic. Extremely welcoming.

Friendliness: Overall - Great

Efficiency: Overall - Very good, effortless

Environment: Overall - Good, but there is a construction next door which fortunately ceased at 6pm. On sunday it was quite.

Access: Overall - Easy - the train and bus stations are nearby. Taxi service is good too.

Amenities: Overall - Fabulous

Cleanliness: Overall - Spotless

Value for money: Overall - Very good

Location, view, room, 188 breakfast as part of the club. Club amenities and service was exceptional. Well served cocktail period from 6 till 8. Other times well stocked bar - wines, beers, water etc and finger food.

Negatives: - Ok the construction next door was a bit noticeable, but stopped early, started at about 8am so was reasonable. Day off on Subday. This is HK so it evolves and is being rebuilt continuously.

8. The Peninsula

If you're thinking of staying at the tip of Tsim Tsa Tsai looking for colonial style architecture and you felt like you want to be closer to harbor view. I was fascinated by the view and wanna have your breakfast by the window. Oh yes the whole harbor view is yours. The excellent service here is known by the fact that some of famed patrons from the Noble House or some of the related to The Kadoorie's family, the founder of this great historian plaza.

Once was a HQ used by the Japanese when the British surrendered during the WW2 and was reclaimed back and renamed to it's glory, The Peninsula . Never once we doubt about it's excellent service to say least, however it's granted a six star awards.

The easiest way to Peninsula is through the long Nathan Rd if you don't know where Salisbury Rd is...and do not miss the afternoon tea...absolute fabulous!!
The Peninsula represents the apex of luxury and elegance. With every passing decade this hotel simply gets better. From the gleaming Rolls Royce vehicles painted in their special green colour to the ever-busy and totally lovely lobby it's a hotel that offers the best of everything, and I mean everything.

My favourite dining location in the hotel is Felix, named after one of the Peninsula's most revered managers (whom I met on many occasions.) My next favourite is Chesa, where you'll find authentic Swiss food. The raclette is so wonderful you'll think you really were transported to the Alps.

Rooms are outstanding. On my last visit I stayed in a deluxe courtyard room; while it doesn't look out on the world famous harbour, you'll enjoy the elegance and comfort of this room type. The room is fully equipped with amazing bed-side digital tablets, incredible bath amenities and best of all, a wonderful coffee maker.

The Peninsula is Hong Kong. You'll never forget your visit.

9. The T Hotel

We have had four excellent stays at the T-Hotel over the past few years - for a total of about eleven weeks. And we hope to stay again on future visits to Hong Kong.

The impressive rooms are a good size - indeed, large, by Hong Kong standards - and furnished and decorated to a high standard. Beds are most comfortable.

All services, including cleaning, are high quality. Staff are consistently helpful and friendly and very polite. The restaurant offers excellent food, beautifully presented and served - and in-room service is available, as well.

Transport links with other parts of Hong Kong, whether by bus, taxi, or the hotel's own service are good and relatively inexpensive; so, if you prefer to stay in a rather more peaceful part of Hong Kong, you have the twin benefits of good transport connections as well as some peace.

Overall, We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! It is difficult to know where to begin but I would have to say interacting with the students was a treat. They want to do well with every fiber of their being. They are so keen to serve you well and correctly you cannot help but feel incredibly lucky to be staying in such a place.

We watched the instructors work with their students in a gentle and patient manner while demonstrating their own commitment to customer service. We stayed at the hotel for six nights and "dined in" several evenings after a long day of being a tourists. The meals were lovely, the service attentive and the view interesting with ships of various sorts going by.

We had two rooms with a wonderful view and as large as you could want, particularly by Hong Kong standards. The bathrooms were modern and well appointed.

All three of us regretted having to leave this great group of people who spoiled us for anywhere else in Hong Kong. Thank you again T Hotel

10. The Langham

As a treat for my girlfriends birthday we checked into the Langham Suite for a quick getaway. On arrival, we were taken to the private check in up on the club floor, where we were treated to champagne while we waited for the staff to complete their paperwork. During the conversation with staff, they asked why we were staying and we explained that it was a birthday treat. Later on that evening, the staff arrived with a personalized birthday cake for my girlfriend. This was not pre-arranged, just a lovely gesture from the hotel.

The Suite allows access to the Langham Club lounge, where breakfast, afternoon tea and evening canapes are served. There are also unlimited alcoholic drinks which you can access at any time. We visited the lounge a few times, each time the staff were delightful, being very caring and attentive or just stopping to have a quick chat about our stay. I can honestly say, it is the best service I have ever received in a hotel in Hong Kong.

The food and beverage offerings in the Club Lounge were good. In terms of quality, I would say the evening canapés were definitely the best. I particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon.

The room was very spacious and the finishing touches around the room were exquisite. In the early evening, the maid arrived to do the turn down service, laying out our slippers, dressing gowns and face towels. These sorts of personal touches really made it a special visit.

I would recommend staying at The Langham if you are planning a trip to Hong Kong, this is somewhere that we would love to stay again.
